The UMK 2023 took place less than a week ago, but next year’s edition of Finland’s selection for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) is already been discussed.

Ville Vilén, director of creative content at broadcaster Yle, revealed to Turun Sanomat that the move from Logomo to a larger arena is being considered: “The popularity has grown to such proportions that moving to a larger space has become a topic”.

Negotiations are still underway with arenas that are suitable for a television show and are available for a whole week at the usual time of the year in which UMK takes place. The regions of Helsink, Tampere and Turku are reportedly under consideration. In addition to Logomo in 2019, 2022 and 2023, past editions of UMK also took place in Espoo, Helsinki and Tampere.
