A few days before heading to Nice, Júlia Machado and part of the Portuguese delegation appeared on RTP’s broadcast, launching their participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC) 2023 for Portugal with the song Where I Belong.

When asked on the program ‘A Nossa Tarde’ on RTP about the inspiration for the singer’s outfits, designer Patrícia Martins stated: “Mainly in her life journey, which is fundamentally the essence of music. [We used] quite a few [materials]”.

Maria Ferreira, the producer and member of Portugal’s delegation at JESC, elaborated: “We challenged Patrícia to do something a bit different from usual. Júlia’s dress, we can’t reveal it yet, is part of the performance. It’s a very important component of her stage performance”.

Patrícia Martins also displayed part of the dress, explaining: “It’s one of the seven pieces that Júlia will have. It’s not all this color, but it’s one of the parts that compose it. We have everything from the dramatic part to the simpler and final part”.
