Picture credits: © Corinne Cumming / EBU On Sunday evening, iolanda took to social media to react to her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2024. The artist, with the song Grito, brought Portugal to the tenth place.
In an Instagram post, the artist wrote: “No words can fully describe the experience we just lived through. I feel everything at once and my emotions are running high, but I’m also sure that what we did yesterday reached where it had to reach. It wasn’t an easy journey, but we managed to find love and unity at a time when everything seemed to indicate otherwise. That’s where we need to focus, so that peace prevails, because there is still so much, so much to do”.
iolanda also highlighted the team that accompanied her in the ESC: “I’m so proud of my team, who fills my eyes with tears from all the hard work and sweat they put into every moment of this adventure”.
It’s worth noting that the singer didn’t hesitate to call for peace at the end of her performance in the grand final, as well as discreetly showing her support for Palestinian freedom.
