iolanda to Eurovision 2024 for Portugal with the song ‘Grito’

iolanda will represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2024. To achieve this, won the Festival da Canção this Saturday with the song Grito.

Just like the semi-finals, this final took place at the RTP studios in Lisbon. Silk Nobre was the first contestant to perform, while João Borsch closed the performance order.

In addition to the participants, guest artists took to the stage, such as last year’s winner, Mimicat, who performed her song Ai Coração. The Black Mamba, Anabela, Mimicat and Tó Cruz paid tribute to ABBA, singing some hits by the Swedish band that won ESC 1974.

After a long wait, the votes of the regional jury, accounting for 50%, were announced first. In the style of the ESC, there was a connection to the seven regions, with their respective spokespersons. iolanda received the highest number of points, 80, converted to 12 points on the definitive scale. Then, the public vote was announced counting the remaining 50%, with João Borsch receiving the 12 points.

In the sum of the two votes, iolanda achieved the victory with the song Grito, totaling 22 points. Thus, will represent Portugal at ESC 2024.
