After the controversies, Israel’s song for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2024 was finally released. Eden Golan performs Hurricane.
Up to this point, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) rejected two submissions by the Israeli broadcaster, Kan, due to the allegedly politicized nature of the lyrics – referring to Hamas’ attacks on October 7th.
Hurricane is reportedly the modified version of one of these rejected songs, originally titled October Rain. The lyrics are by Avi Ohayon and Keren Peles, who also participated in the composition alongside Stav Beger.
