Greece’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) has been chosen internally since 2018, but that could change in 2023.
Paron newspaper writes that the broadcaster ERT is considering organizing a national final next year. A selection committee would have already chosen 30 songs from the 104 received ones.
According to OGAE Greece, the costs have been keeping ERT away from a national final, despite having studied the possibility in recent years.
Interestingly, since opting for an internal selection, Greece only missed the ESC final once. The best result was the eighth place this year, achieved by Amanda Tenfjord with the song Die Together.
