First four finalists of Benidorm Fest 2024 selected

The first four finalists of Benidorm Fest 2024 were determined this Tuesday. Spain’s selection for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) began with the first semifinal.

Eight contestants took the stage at the Palau Municipal d’Esports l’Illa de Benidorm: Lérica was the first, and Nebulossa was the last to perform. During the voting, guest artist Mr. Rain sang the song Supereroi, with which he participated in last year’s Sanremo Festival. Before the results were announced, Vicco and Abraham Mateo performed Te Quiero and Nochentera.

The jury accounted for 50% of the final results, with the initial results presented. Nebulossa received the highest votes with 84 points. Then, the demoscopic jury (25%) awarded its maximum score of 40 points to Angy Fernández. Finally, the public (25%) preferred Mantra with 40 points.

In the overall voting tally, Nebulossa won the semifinal with 149 points. Also qualified were Angy Fernández, Sofía Coll, and Miss Caffeina. Mantra missed the qualification by just seven points, finishing in fifth place.
