Melodifestivalen 2024 kicks off this Saturday, February 3, with the first semifinal, and the stage design is already known. The event selects Sweden’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC).
The scenographer is Viktor Brattström, and Fredrik Stormby led the lighting design team. There are two large angled LED walls on the sides of the stage and a high-resolution LED screen on the floor. There is also a small separate strip from the main stage, serving as an additional position for the presenters and contributing to closeness with the audience.
Pink will be featured prominently, according to Viktor Brattstörm, who also explained: “The stage can offer a great variety, and the feeling in the arena will be elegant and festive, with joy and enthusiasm promised. Everyone will recognize themselves in the wonderful and vivid feeling of the party. This feeling is always part of the Melodifestivalen identity. One challenge this year was to make everything more compact without losing sight of grandeur and dynamism. We believe we succeeded. I am grateful to have been part of this event and its development over the years”.
