Picture credits: © Lasse Lagoni / DR A few days before this year’s edition of the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC), Denmark already has plans outlined for its national selection for 2025.
The Dansk Melodi Grand Prix will take place on March 1 at the Jysle Bank Boxen in Herning. The same venue will host the junior version of the contest next year. Tickets for DMGP 2025 will go on sale this Tuesday, May 7th.
Erik Struve Hansen, program director of the broadcaster DR for DMGP and Eurovision, stated in a press release: “This year, the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix brought together over a million people for a music festival in living rooms across the country. I am looking forward to bringing people together again for a festive night of music, which in 2025 will be directly from the Boxen in Herning. The ambition is to continue the momentum of this year and give the Danes a huge party created by the next artists and presenters, and the Boxen can provide a good setting for this. Before that, I, along with the rest of Denmark, keep our fingers crossed for Saba in the Eurovision, so hopefully she can make it through the semifinals on Thursday”.
