Returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC) after 17 years, the United Kingdom will be represented by Freya Skye with the song Lose My Head in this year’s edition. The event will take place on December 11 in Yerevan (Armenia).

The 13-year-old artist was internally chosen by the broadcaster BBC. She started releasing music during the lockdown caused by the pandemic in 2020.

The song Lose My Head is about friendship. The songwriters are Amber Van Day, Falco Van Den Aker and Jack Hawitt – a team that has already worked with artists such as Ava Max, Megan Thee Stallion or Pharrell Williams.

Speaking to the BBC website, Freya Skye commented: “I feel so lucky to have been given the opportunity to be a part of something so exciting”.
