Image credits: Pedro Pina – RTP Mimicat was chosen to defend Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2023 with the song Ai Coração – after tonight’s Win at Festival da Canção.
The last national final of the season featured 13 contestants. Cláudia Pascoal (Portugueses representative at ESC 2018) was the first to perform and SAL were the last to take the stage.
There were also guest performers, such as Salvador Sobral (winner of ESC 2017 with a record-breaking 758 points) and MARO (Portugueses representative at ESC 2022).
The public and the jury defined the results, with each component counting 50 percent to the results. Edmundo Inácio and Mimicat ended with the same points in the lead of the jury vote, while the public preferred Mimicat who won Festival da Canção with the song Ai Coração.
