It’s quite a tongue twister! Estonia chose 5MIINUST x Puuluup as their representatives at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2024 with the song (nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi.
The final of Eesti Laul took place at the Tondiraba Ice Hall in Tallinn. There were 11 finalists, but also guests had performed, including last year’s winner, Alika, with Bedwetters.
In the first round, an international jury consisting of members from nine different countries and the public, with each component having a 50 percent weight in the vote, decided the results. The top three performers advanced to the Super Final.
The finalists were 5MIINUST x Puuluup, Nele-Liis Vaiksoo and Ollie. In the Super Final, only the public voted, choosing 5MIINUST x Puuluup as the winners, ahead of Ollie. Nele-Liis Vaiksoo finished third.
Thus, the eccentric 5MIINUST x Puuluup, with the song (nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi, will represent Estonia at ESC 2024. At least, they’ve secured the «prize» for the longest title of this edition…
