A source from the broadcaster informed the site 12Xal that six participants have been chosen to be reviewed by Focus Groups of fans, journalists, and Eurovision professionals. Once this process is completed, the winner will be chosen.
One of the contenders is Aisel, who represented Azerbaijan at ESC 2018 in Lisbon with the song X My Heart. At the time, she placed 11th in her semifinal, marking the first time in history that the country failed to qualify for the grand final.
