This Monday marks seven years since Portugal’s victory at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2017. The country’s representative that year was Salvador Sobral, with the song Amar Pelos Dois.

After his participation, the artist has always sought to distance himself from the contest to some extent, avoiding being known solely as the Eurovision winner.

However, on the seventh anniversary of the victory, he took to social media for a rare acknowledgment of the achievement: “Happy seventh anniversary, my dear Eurovision. I love you and hate you at the very same time”.

Accompanying the text, Salvador Sobral posted a video of one of the rehearsals, in which he innovated significantly in the interpretation of the song… even imitating a saxophone vocally.
