The candidates to represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2024 are about to be revealed. On January 19th, the NDR broadcaster will announce the chosen participants at the Eurovision Song Contest – Das deutsche Finale 2024. Tickets will also go on sale on the same date, and the event is scheduled for February 16th.
Interested artists could apply until October 15th of last year, and a total of 693 applications were received. Invitations were also sent directly to some artists.
After an evaluation by the NDR editorial team for Eurovision, an international panel of experts received 32 songs to assess, choosing the best ones for live auditions. From there, the finalists were selected.
The announcement of the chosen participants will be made on January 19th, and the process doesn’t stop there. There will be a six-episode documentary featuring Conchita Wurst and Rea Garvey, where 15 contestants will compete for an additional spot in the final. On February 8th, Conchita Wurst and Rea Garvey will have to select four participants for the public vote to determine who gets that extra place.
