Image: RTP Divulgação Portugal will be represented by Nicolas Alves at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC) 2022. It’s the second year in a row that the Portuguese participant comes from The Voice Kids.
The winner of the talent show, Maria Gill, will turn 15 before December 11th (the date of JESC), and therefore is excluded due to the rules that stipulate the maximum age of 14 years old.
Thus, public broadcaster RTP invited Nicolas Alves, who came in second place, for the JESC 2022. The 13-year-old, resident in Torres Vedras, was part of the Carolina Deslandes team in The Voice Kids.
He was born in England and lived there until he was 10 years old. When he was 8 years old, he entered a musical school. Nicolas Alves is inspired by Michael Jackson and Freddy Mercury.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 is scheduled for December 11th at Yerevan, the Armenian capital.
