The stage for the Melodifestivalen 2023 was revealed this Thursday. The event will take place in February and March, selecting Sweden’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC).
The designer is Viktor Brattström, who created a single large stage, instead of two as was the case last year. There is a large staircase to the front of the stage, split in two, creating a space where performers can be closer to the audience. In the background there is a giant LED screen, which can be opened, in addition to some smaller LED screens. The green room follows the lines of last year, in the middle of the audience.
Viktor Brattström commented: “We want to keep the live feeling and everything else that was good on the 2022 stage. The audience and the performers should get close to each other because it creates a wonderful energy that the viewers can feel too. Also, we want to reuse as much as possible”.
