Aidan was disqualified from Malta’s Eurovision 2023 selection for repeatedly breaking the rules

Further explanations were provided on Aidan’s disqualification from the Malta Eurovision Song Contest (MESC) 2023. The event will select Malta’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest.

A spokesperson for the Maltese broacaster, PBS, explained to TVM that the artist was warned and reprimanded repeatedly, insisting, however, in infringing the regulations on the promotion of his participation through the social networks.

Aidan has made numerous unauthorized posts on Instagram and Facebook. The rules dictate that no promotion of the songs can be made from the moment of the announcement of the participants in the quarter-finals. According to the spokesperson, this is intended to put everyone in equal footing.

Aidan was participating at MESC with the song Reġina, presenting it in the first quarter-final on January 14th.
