Image source: Instagram @melissamantzoukis_official Melissa Mantzoukis is proceeding with a legal action against the results of Greece’s selection for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2023. The internal process ended with Victor Vernicos as the chosen one.
According to the website EurovisionFun.com, the singer’s lawyer confirms that they will dispute the results. The key point is the result of the ERT jury, which had a weight of 49.6 per cent in the results.
Before going to court, the legal team sent a letter to the broadcaster ERT in which they questioned two aspects: how the jury still voted for Antonia Kaouri and Maria Maragou after being reported that the duo withdrew from the selection; and how Melissa Mantzoukis got 440 points since with three competing songs the minimum score would be 560 points.
Melissa Mantzoukis’ lawyers also say that Victor Vernicos received 740 points and Maria Maragou & Antonia Kaouri ended up with 720 points. From the part of the ERT, there is no official comment on the controversy.
