Image: Screen capture RAI 1 Marco Mengoni reinforces his favoritism to win the Sanremo Festival 2023 and return to the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) for Italy. The singer remains in the lead of the Italian event after three nights.
The 28 contestants returned to the stage at Teatro Aariston for this third night, in which they performed their competing songs for the second time. Paola and Chiara were the first to perform, in a running order closed by Will.
Several srenowned guests also performed as usual. MĂ„neskin returned to the Sanremo Festival to sing a medley including Zitti and Buoni â the song with which they won ESC 2021. The band was joined by Tom Morello to perform Gossip. Annalisa and Massimo Ranieri (Italy’s representative at the ESC in 1971 and 1973) were among the other guests.
Tonight the vote was from the demoscopic jury and from the public via televoting, adding to the press room vote of the previous nights. At the end of the show, the general standings after three nights was announced, with xx being the leader.
