The first names of possible participants in Melodifestivalen 2023 appeared. The event is the traditional Swedish selection for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC).
The Aftonbladet newspaper writes that Loulou LaMotte, the duo Nordman and Wiktoria Johansson are ready to participate in the Nordic event.
Currently 41 years old, Loulou LaMotte is part of the trio The Mamas, which won Melodifestivalen in 2020 not representing Sweden at that year’s ESC after it was cancelled due to the pandemic. The year before, they were backing vocals to John Lundvik at the Melodifestivalen and at the ESC.
As for Nordman, the duo made up of Håkan Hemlin and Mats Wester is set to participate in the Swedish event for the third time – this after getting back together this year following a break. A person quoted by the aforementioned press outlet, close to Nordman, assures that the duo has “a great song that was written together with Jimmy Jansson”.
With 25 years old, Wiktoria Johansson is also set to participate at the Melodifestivalen in 2023, after competing in 2016, 2017 and 2019. In the three past times she was directly qualified for the grand final and a source assured to Aftonbladet that the singer will participate again next year.
