Loreen’s staging upper platform may be too heavy for Eurovision 2023 stage

Loreen will represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2023 with the song Tattoo and her staging may have to change compared to what was watched at Melodifestivalen – the country’s national selection.

According to the Aftonbladet newspaper, the upper LED platform weights 1,800kg… which may be too heavy for the ESC stage at Liverpool Arena. The structure was hung from the ceiling at the Swedish event.

Anders Wistbacka, project manager of Melodifestivalen, admitted that there would be stagings that would be more difficult to addapt to ESC. In 2019, Sweden had to change the concept of John Lundvik’s stage, moving from a lamp hanging from the ceiling to one placed on the stage floor.
