After 11 years, Loreen is back to the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC), managing to qualify for the grand final yesterday. The artist represents Sweden with the song Tattoo.
The 2012 winner is a strong candidate to repeat the result this year. However, in a press conference after the semi-final, Loreen addmited that she first denied to return to the Swedish national selection… before she decided to participate:
Loreen: “Honestly, I never thought in my wildest dream… sometimes you think where you’re heading in life, but you don’t know. Anyway, there was the song that came to me and I fell in love with the song and I was asked the question: so, do you want to be in the Melodifestivalen? I’m like: «Oh, my God, no!». I honestly said no, because, «can I give you guys something?». But then, when I saw how happy the people around me became whenever I said «maybe I’ll do it» – and I’m a peoples person – I’m like, you know… I want to connect to people through creativity, so I took a leap of faith, I went where it was flowing, this is a nice energy, I go this way. And then I went”.
