Organizing theĀ Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC)Ā 2022 costsĀ Armenia around 13 million euros. The event will take place on December 11 in Yerevan.
According to the website News.am, the budget allocated by the government to JESC is 4.998 billion Drams, that is, around 13 million euros (more than 10 billion pounds). Of this sum, 2.698 Drams are spent by AMPTV on aspects such as the technical equipment, stage construction and creative design.
Thus, it will be one of the most expensive editions of JESC ever, being just around 500.000 euros (436,000 pounds) below the budgets for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in 2013 and 2016.
However, there is one factor to take into account: when it was announced that the event would be held at Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex, the Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, revealed that renovation works of the venue would be financed.
