Iru Khechanovi won the The Voice of Georgia and, thus, will represent Georgia at Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2023.
The final of the talent show took place this Thursday and one of the prizes for the winner was to represent the country in Liverpool. Iru Khechanovi was one of the eight finalists and in this show she performed the song Euphoria, by Loreen.
With 21.88 per cent of the votes, the singer was the winner. In second place was Giorgi Datiashvili with 15.72 per cent of the votes. The broadcaster GPB says that now the work of selecting the song will begin.
Despite being her first time at ESC, Iru Khechanovi is no stranger to the Eurovision audiences: in 2011 she won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC) for Georgia as part of the group Candy.
