This afternoon, RTP revealed the members of the jury for the two semi-finals of the Festival da Canção 2023. Portugal’s selection event for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) starts tomorrow.
The jury, with a weight of 50 percent in the results, has seven members: Alex D’Alva (songwriter at the Festival da Canção in 2019 and 2021), Carlos Mendes (Portugal’s representative at ESC in 1968 and 1972), Márcia (participant at Festival da Canção 2017), MARO (Portugal’s representative at ESC 2022), NEEV (finalist of the Festival da Canção 2021), Pedro Ribeiro (radio host) e Sara Correia (fado singer).
The first semi-final of the Festival da Canção features ten contestants. Five of them will qualify for the final through the combined vote of the public and the jury, while a sixth participant will be qualifiied only with the public voting in a second round.
