As has been happening for several years, the country’s broadcaster opted for an internal selection. Fahree studied to become a lawyer, is the son of a jazz drummer, and the pandemic reignited his interest in music.
Other alleged candidates speculated by the international press included Aisel (who represented Azerbaijan in 2018), İlkin Dövlətov & Mila Miles, and Etibar Əsədli.
