Eurovision Schedule: Three countries will decide their representatives, and two more semifinals

Another Saturday filled with national selection events for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2024. Today, February 10th, Finland, Latvia and Italy will select their representatives, while Lithuania and Sweden have another semifinal.

Finals

Finland/Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (20h00, Yle)

Tonight, the Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu, better known by its acronym UMK, will select Finland’s representative for ESC 2024. There are six contestants who will perform on the stage of the Nokia Arena in Tampere. The voting will be divided between the public (75%) and an international jury (25%). Various guests will also perform, including last year’s winner, Käärijä. Scheduled for 20:00 PM (CETl time), the UMK can be watched on Yle.

Latvia/Supernova – Final (20h10, LTV 1)

The Supernova 2024 is back with the final. The ten finalists will perform at the LTV studios in Riga to find the winner and, consequently, the representative of Latvia at the ESC. The results will be decided by the jury and the public televote, each component carrying a weight of 50 percent. The Supernova final will be broadcast on LTV 1, scheduled to start at 20h10 PM. Alika, the representative of Estonia at the ESC 2023, is one of the guests.

 

Italy/Sanremo Festival – Final night (20h45, RAI 1)

After five days filled with music and performances at the Teatro Ariston, the Sanremo Festival 2024 concludes this Saturday. The 30 contestants will once again take the stage with their songs. Several guests are also confirmed, including Gigliola Cinquietti. In the first round, all participants are competing, but the accumulated ranking until the end of that round will determine the top five advancing to the second round. There, the voting starts from zero again to find the winner. Throughout the night, the public (34%), the TV and online press jury (33%), and the radio jury (33%) will cast their votes. The final night of the Sanremo Festival will begin at 20h45 PM on RAI 1. It’s worth to mention that the Sanremo Festival winner has the first refusal to represent Italy at ESC 2024, but it’s only mandatory if them expressed officialy that desire beforehand.

Semi-finals/heats

Lithuania/Eurovizija.LT – Semi-final 5 (20h00, LRT)

The last two finalists of Eurovizijas.LT will b e determined tonight in the fifth semifinal. The event selects Lithuania’s representative at the ESC 2024. The show was pre-recorded, as were all others in this phase, and features eight participants. The jury and the public each count 50% to the result. The start is scheduled for 20:00 on LRT.

Sweden/Melodifestivalen – Heat 2 (20h00, SVT)

The second heat of Melodifestivalen 2024 takes place this Saturday in Gothenburg. Six contestants take the stage, and the audience will decide two qualifiers for the final and two for the second chance round. In the first voting round, the winner of the heat is determined. The remaining five contestants proceed to a second voting round to determine the rest of the rankings. The show will be broadcasted by SVT starting at 20:00.
