The BBC announced this Monday the senior production team of the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2023. The event will be held in Liverpool, United Kingdom.

Andrew Cartmell will be the Executive Producer of the ESC 2023, taking overall responsiblity for the semifinals and the grand final. As for Lee Smithurst, will be the Head of Show, having under his responsiblity the editorial content and the creative lead.

Twan van de Nieuwenhuijzen is, for the third year in a row, the Head of Contest, so he will work with the national delegations to deliver the creative and on stage ideas of the artists. The Executive in Charge of Production will be James O’Brian, overseeing the team responsible for the technical delivery and “all the other elements within the venue precint”.

Martin Green CBE will be the Managing Director, leading the team responsible by overseeing all of the aspects of the event. The team led by Martin Green will create, plan and deliver the show. Rachel Ashdown will be the Lead Commissioner for the BBC on ESC 2023. In this job, she will work with BBC Studios (in charge of the production of the live shows) in the overall look and tone of the event. Beyond that, Rachel Ashdown will be responsible for commissioning other programming and for the work with the independent production companies in the contents as the allocation draw.
