This year, Estonia made its debut at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC), and the intention is to repeat participation in 2024.
The ERR broadcaster already has a potential selection format in mind: the Tähtede Lava, a bianual competition it has been organizing since 1992, intended for children aged three to 15 in different age groups.
Laura Kõrvits, head of delegation, stated to ESC Insight: “We thought about what would be the biggest prize for winning this competition, and we thought that Junior Eurovision would be the best thing. We plan to change the format of this singing competition, it would be great if the winner would get to represent Estonia at Junior Eurovision”.
The last edition of Tähtede Lava was in 2022, and ARHANNA was the jury’s winner. Previously, Estonia’s representative in JESC 2023 was the winner in the youngest category.
