Image credits: EBU This week, the broadcaster SBS revealed that it will make an internal selection to choose the Australia’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2023. And there is already interest, more specifically from Dami Im.
The artist, who represented the country in 2016 being second, reacted to the news on social media, writing in an Instagram «Story»: “Putting my hand up for another shot if this is the case”.
Dami Im’s second place finish in 2016 was Australia’s best result ever in the ESC. She performed the song Sound of Silence.
In 2020, the singer announced during the Eurovision – Australia Decides that she would participate in the following edition. However, the pandemic meant that the event was not held in 2021.
