The competing songs at the Festivali i Këngës 61 will only be known during the live shows. These are scheduled for December 19 to 22. The event serves as Albania’s selection for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2023.

During a Q&A session on Instagram, the producer for Festivali i Këngës, Arbana Osmani, stated that the songs will not be revealed before the live shows.

This is a change compared to the recent years, when the broadcaster RTSH released the songs before the live performances.

In 2022, the event will have some more changes: it will also be the first time that the public will select alone Albania’s representative at the ESC. On the other hand, there are three prizes awarded by the jury: for the top three; for youth artists and alternative groups; and for the first of established artists.
