Without much surprise, Croatia secured qualification for the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2024. The song Rim Tim Tagi Dim by Baby Lasagna is currently the clear favorite to win.

When asked in a press conference if he considered this his best performance at the Malmö Arena so far, the singer replied: “It was better on the rehearsals, but it was the best you’ve seen”.

Regarding what was going through his mind before going on stage, Baby Lasagna revealed that he was enjoying the previous song: “I don’t know what they were [the thoughts]. I was singing Poland’s song, The Tower, so I was vibing with that. I tried to empty my mind before going on stage and just being in the moment. And in that moment Poland was rocking the stage, so I was singing The Tower”.

As for how he feels about being the clear favorite to win and how he deals with the pressure, the Croatian representative commented: “The same I did when I was leading it before Nemo [Swizerland] took the stage [on the rehearsals]. Those are just numbers and job is not done. It’s not over until the fat lady sings”.

From the outside, the performance seems to have been highly energetic. What was Baby Lasagna’s feeling?: “I don’t know. I felt more comfortable before, since Eurovision is in the next level when it comes to professionalism. And you have to look at that camera, then at that camera, and then at that camera. That can be kind of restrictive, so I can’t let myself just feel the moment. I have to think about the performance all the time. I don’t know how was the energy. For me it was fine, I’m happy with it”.
