Picture credits: © Corinne Cumming / EBU Ukraine keeps its 100% effective record, once again qualifying for the final at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2024. This year, it is represented by alyona alyona and Jerry Heil with the song Teresa & Maria.
When asked at a press conference about the importance of being in the event, alyona alyona replied: “Being here now is a superb possibility to say thanks to all countries for your helping hand to Ukrainians. We feel it, we got it, we appreciate it, thank you so much. And it’s a possibility to spread the culture because we need it. And I think Ukraine gives the example for other countries, so this Eurovision has the biggest amount of participants who’re singing in their own language. It’s so cool!”.
Jerry Heil added: “And we say that if Ukrainian music will be in the charts and in all of your personal playlists, on a daily basis, then we won”.
Regarding whether they felt pressure from the expectations because Ukraine has always made it to the final, Jerry Heil stated: “We felt such a pressure! It’s all about the pressure. But of course we feel what Ukraine expects from us, that we’re doing great. But we’ve got the best team we could imagine. They’re all Ukrainian and they’re so talented, and there is the possibility the world see what Ukrainians can do, and to be visible finally. I guess we did it!”.
