Image credits: Ulrik Kramer/NRK The first semifinal of the Melodi Grand Prix 2023 took place this Saturday and the first three finalists were selected. The contest will elect the Norwegian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC).
The format was renewed compared to recent years: seven competitors performed their songs in a single round. The public chose the three finalists, who are: Alessandra Mele, Ulrikke and Umami Tsunami.
Among those who were eliminated, JOWST stands out. The winner of the 2017 edition participated together with Byron Williams Jr. this time. On January 21st and 28th the remaining semifinals of the Melodi Grand Prix will be held, before the grand final scheduled for February 4th.
