Imagem: e-FestivalCOM After the open submission period ended on October 21, 667 songs were received for the Festival da Canção 2023. The competition elects Portugal’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC).
The number was revealed this Friday by the Portuguese public broadcaster, RTP. The four selected singers through this process are not yet publicly known, and they will be contacted in the coming days.
Once again, next year’s Festival da Canção will feature 20 participating songs: 16 from the songwriters directly invited by RTP and the four coming from the open submission process.
The exact dates of the event, which will compress two semifinals and a grand final in February and March, are not yet known.
