Marco Mengoni leads the Sanremo Festival 2023 after two nights. The winner of the event will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC). This Wednesday the second night took place, in which Colapesce and Dimartino were the most scored.

The remaining 14 contestants took to the stage at the Teatro Ariston this evening to present their songs in the competition for the first time. Will was the first to perform, while the running order was closed by Paola and Chiara.

In between, several guests performed, including Black Eyed Peas and three former Italian representatives at ESC: Al Bano, Massimo Ranieri and Gianni Morandi, in a trio.

The press room voted and decided the night’s results. Colapesce and Dimartino were the most voted, while in the general standings of the first two nights Marco Mengoni stayed in the lead.

Tomorrow the 28 participants will perform again, being voted by the desmoscopic jury and by the public’s televote, each component counting 50 percent.
