Image credits: Jan Ainali/Wikimedia Commons Melodifestivalen 2023 could have a strong return: Loreen, with the songwriters of the song with which she won the contest and the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in 2012, Euphoria. Remember that Melodifestivalen is Sweden’s selection for the ESC.
A source quoted by Aftonbladet – a newspaper that usually gets right about several competitors – assured the singer’s participation: “Yes, should be involved. She waited for a long time, but she loved the song. She has been somewhat reluctantly convinced. Once she tried to sing it, everything felt right”.
However, another source of the same news outlet was more cautious, saying: “She usually doesn’t make up her mind until the last moment. It may take until the days before the press conference this time as well”.
Also according to Aftonbladet, the same team behind Euphoria wrote Loreen’s song this time: Peter Boström and Thomas G:son, who would have been joined by Jimmy ‘Joker’ Thörnfeldt.
