Jamala has been added to the Russia’s wanted list. The artist won the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in 2016 for Ukraine with the song 1944, which refers to the forced deportation of Crimean Tatars by the then Soviet Union.
According to the independent Russian website Mediazona, Jamala was added to the list in October. She is accused of spreading false information about the Russian armed forces. The singer has criticized the Russian invasion of Ukraine on more than one occasion.
Meanwhile, the Telegram channel Shot alleges that Jamala (Susana Jamaladinova) made «false» posts about the carnage committed by the Russian armed forces in Bucha last year.
