Image credits: Ulrik Kramer/NRK Alessandra Mele and the song Queen of the Kings will represent Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2023 after winning the Melodi Grand Prix final, which took place tonight at Trondheim Spektrum.
The Melodi Grand Prix final started with JONE’s performance, while the last of the contestants to take the stage was Alessandra Mele.
After the competing performances, and while the televoting period was opened, Subwoolfer – last year’s winners and ESC finalists – not only performed their song Give That Wolff a Banana but also finally revealed their identities: Ben Adams and Gaute Ormåsen.
The voting reveal started with the points from the international jury, who preferred Alessandra Mele giving her 104 points. Before the televote was announced, there was a special performance by Ingrid Helene Håvik, Nils Bech, Daniela Reyes singing Tenkj om vi var venner.
Also in the televote Alessandra Mele was the most scored and thus she won the Melodi Grand Prix 2023 with 233 points and will represent Norway at ESC 2023 in Liverpool.
