Melissa Mantzoukis has started legal proceedings against the ERT regarding the selection of Greece’s representative in the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2023 and the court hearing begin next week.
According to the website Eurovision Fun, quoting the artist’s lawyer, the court hearing about the temporary injuction will happen soon. Next week’s audience is expected to consider that request, which would freeze the results of Greek selection.
The goal of Melissa Mantzoukis and her legal representatives is to be recognized as the winner of the selection procedure. Victor Vernicos was announced as the winner, but doubts are being raised about the scores.
On the one hand, Melissa Mantzoukis questions how she received 440 points with three competing songs, considering that she could have received 560 points. On the other hand, she questions the fact that the jury still voted for Maria Maragou & Antonia Kaouri after the duo withdrew the selection.
