Image: Screen capture RTSH Albania chooses its representative at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2023 on December 22. This is the date of the final of Festivali i Këngës 61.
The news was revealed on social media by Arbana Osmani, director of the Albanian show, who wrote in a post that the event will take place from December 19 to December 22.
This year, Festivali i Këngës will have a new format. The winner may not be Albania’s representative at the ESC 2023, as for the first time that decision will be taken only for the public by televote in a separate vote.
This year’s Festivali i Këngës will feature 26 participants, which have already been revealed. In addition to the overall victory and the possibility of representing Albania at the ESC 2023, prizes are still at stake for the second and third places, for young artists and alternative groups and one for established artists.
