ESC Schedule, 09/03/2024: How to follow Sweden’s and Portugal’s national finals

After more than two months, the national final phase for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2024 comes to an end this Saturday. Sweden and Portugal are the last countries to select their representatives.

Sweden/Melodifestivalen – Final (20h00, SVT)

After five heats, the grand final of Melodifestivalen 2024 will take place this Saturday at the Friends Arena in Stockholm. The representative of Sweden for the ESC hosted by the country itself will be elected, with 12 contestants competing for the opportunity. An international jury and the public, each carrying 50% weight, will decide the results. Besides the contestants, performances from guests are expected at this gala, scheduled for 20h00 with broadcasting on SVT online.

Portugal/Festival da Canção – Final (22h06, RTP)

The Festival da Canção 2024 comes to an end this Saturday, with the grand final at the RTP studios in Lisbon. There are 12 finalists who will compete for Portugal’s spot in the ESC. The results will be determined by both a regional jury and the public, each component carrying a 50% weight. There will also be participation from several guests. The show is scheduled to start at 22h06, with broadcast on RTP Play
