It’s the case that’s marking the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2024. With their representative Joost Klein under police investigation, the Netherlands has been disqualified. The country’s public broadcaster has already responded.

In a statement posted on social media, AVROTROS expresses disagreement with the decision, considering it inappropriate to the case, deferring further statements to a later time:

– We have taken not of the disqualification by the EBU. AVROTROS finds the disqualification disproportionate and is shocked by the decision. We deeply regret this and will come back to this later”.

Joost Klein was accused by a woman from the production team of an officially unidentified inappropriate behavior after the second semi-final on Thursday. The international press reports a situation of verbal intimidation, prompting a police investigation in Malmö.
