The detailed results of Söngvakeppnin 2023 were announced. Diljá was the winner of the event in the last Saturday’s final with the song Power and will represent Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC).
In the first semi-final the winner got 9,605 votes against the 7,135 votes for BRAGI. The second semi-final had more votes cast, with 12,714 people voting for Langi Seli og Skuggarnier (the winners of that semi-final).
In the final, Diljá was the clear winner. In the first round, she was first by a big margin in the jury and the public votings. Afterwards, in the super final against Seli og Skuggarnir, Diljá got 164,003 votes from the public. Her opponents were awarded with 95,581 votes. The jury in the final had ten members (you can read the list in the end of the article) and voted in the first round only.
