The procedure to select Czech Republic’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2023 is officially open.

Until December 8, the broadcaster Česká Televize is accepting applications. Three participants will be selected for the final stage of the competition. The Czech and the foreign public and a expert jury will decide the winner.

The submissions can be in the demo version, but the compositions cannot be publicly presented or released in any form before September 1, 2022. The same artist can participate with more than one song and, individually or in a group, the lead singer must hold Czech citizenship.

In 2023, Czech Republic will try to qualify for the final of the ESC for the second time in a row, something that only managed to do in 2018 and 2019.
