In a few weeks, Czechia will select its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2024, and there are new details about ESCZ.
The country’s selection event will take place in early December. It will feature a maximum of seven contestants, as revealed by the head of delegation, Kryštof Šámal, on The Euro Trip podcast. He explained that there will be between five to seven candidates:
– It was very difficult to select only five songs [as originally announced]. I think we can have a very strong national selection this year, so we’re considering maybe having a few more. We’ve selected the majority of them, but we still have one or two question marks for various reasons. If everything goes as planned, I think we’ll have seven [songs]. But there’s also the possibility of having five or six because we’re still in negotiations with two artists”.
