Image: Screen capture RAI 1 This Sunday, the «Big» artists who will participate at the Sanremo Festival 2023 were revealed. The winner of the event has the right to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC).
There are many returning artists, including two of them who already competed at the ESC: Anna Oxa, who represented Italy in 1989 in a duet with Fausto Leali ending up in ninth place with the song Avrei voluto; and Marco Mengoni, who after winning Sanremo in 2013 defended Italy at ESC with the song L’essenziale and ended up seventh.
Several well-known names from recent years are also returning to Sanremo in 2023, such as Colapesce Dimartino, Coma_Cose, Elodie, Levante, Tananai or Ultimo, in addition to several renowned Italian musicians.
The 22 «Big» now annunced will be joined by six contestants coming from Sanremo Giovani. The final will be on December 16th and during that show the «Big» songs titles will also be revealed.
