The song from Albania for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2024 will be in English. Confirmation came from the performer, Besa, who won the Festivali i Këngës in December with Zemrën n’dorë.

Like all other songs in the national selection event, it was originally in the country’s language. However, it is undergoing a revamp, and the lyrics will be in English for the ESC.

Besa told Eurovision Insider: “We developed the narrative, we do finally give a character some resolution regarding the direction to go to, to escape this situation. I feel happy about the revamp because I think honestly it’s much better than the Albanian version and that’s not because of the language. I do believe that when you make a revamp, even if you choose to do it in another language, that it should be rewritten, reformulated for that language. The cultural background, the way of viewing the relationships, the way of viewing the dynamics – it’s such a big part of reformulating music and songs. That’s why I wanted to put up together a team with producers from different countries to see how they view the song”.
