Luxembourg’s return to the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) could happen as soon as 2024. The matter is being discussed in the Grand Duchy.
The broadcaster RTL has already started discussions with the Luxembourghish government regarding the participation in the event in 2024. The discussions were promoted by the Prime Minister, Xavier Bettel, who accumulates the position of Minister of Communications and Media.
It’s believed that the participation could be expensive, but also have a substantial return. The project is being handled by a team led by Xavier Bettel in cooperation with the Minister of Culture, Sam Tanson, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean Asselborn, among others.
The last time Luxembourg participated at the ESC was in 1993, having won five times despite being one of the smallest countries to have ever competed in the show.
